There is a publication of a book called The Day American Told The Truth by co-author James Patterson which mentioned a survey shows 90 percent of people in the United States lie routinely while 36 percent confess that they tell important lies.
According to the survey result, there will be included 86 percent, 75 percent, 73 percent and 69 percent which lie to parents, friends, and siblings as well as spouse accordingly. Besides, he found that the actual things they lie to included 81 percent, 43 percent and 40 percent that lie about their feelings, income as well as sex accordingly. The findings from the interviewers included 51 percent said that they have got no reason to marry, 29 percent said that they are unsure about the relationship with spouse while 31 percent admit that they are having or had an extramarital affair.
“Americans are willing to lie at the drop of a hat. Lying is part of their lives. People say what others want to hear,” said James Patterson.
In conclusion, he classifies lies as “dark lies,” as well as “trivial lies,” with the meaning of the ones that hurt other people and the latter ones refers to the insincere compliments which brings inaccurate or false statements.

2. Never start a news story para with There Is..it sounds very essay-like, and takes away the seriousness of the news story.
